It depends on the coat and the pet. Dogs with longer or curly coats usually need grooming every 4 to 6 weeks. Shorter-haired dogs can often go 6 to 12 weeks between visits. Cats vary too, but regular grooming helps even self-cleaning cats stay comfortable and mat-free.
Looking clean and being fully cared for aren't quite the same thing. Grooming also covers nail trims, ear cleaning, and a close check of the skin and coat, things that catch problems early before they turn into something bigger, like a hidden mat or an ear infection.
Yes, when it's done right. We keep the dryer moving, use a low, gentle setting, and never hold it in one spot too long. A proper blow-dry also gets moisture out of the coat that air-drying alone can leave behind.
Usually it's because the brushing isn't reaching all the way down to the skin. Surface brushing can miss the base of the coat, where mats actually start. The right tool for your dog's coat type makes a big difference too.
A bath and tidy covers the basics: bath, blow dry, nail trim, ear cleaning, and light trimming around the eyes and paws. A full groom includes all of that plus a complete haircut.
Yes. Older pets often have stiffer joints, less patience for a long session, or extra sensitivity. We slow down, take breaks when needed, and adjust our handling so the visit stays comfortable for them.
Self-grooming helps, but it doesn't prevent mats, doesn't trim nails, and doesn't catch skin issues the way a professional groom does. It also gets harder for cats to groom themselves well as they get older or heavier.
Salon grooming means you bring your pet to us. Mobile grooming means we come to you. Both get the same quality of care, it's really just about what's more convenient for you and your pet.
For a lot of pets, yes. Staying in a familiar place, without a car ride or other animals around, can make a real difference for pets who get nervous easily.

Yes, especially for longer or curly coats. A quick brush once or twice a week keeps mats from forming and makes each grooming visit faster and easier on your pet.
It's not just about softness. Conditioner helps close the hair cuticle, which makes the coat easier to brush, cuts down on tangles, and helps keep dirt from sticking as easily between baths.
Often, yes. A close look at the skin and coat during a groom can turn up things like hot spots, lumps, or early skin irritation that might go unnoticed at home.
Every pet is different. We handle nervous and first-time pets with patience, and mobile grooming in particular tends to feel calmer since your pet stays in a familiar place.
Nothing complicated. A short walk or bathroom break beforehand helps some pets settle in faster, but honestly, just showing up is enough. We'll take it from there.
